The Daily Herald, Ke Alaka'i and Hawaii Business Magazine
I have been a multi-media journalist at the Ke Alaka'i magazine for just under two years and was an editorial intern for Hawaii Business Magazine over the summer of 2022. After graduation, I began working at the Daily Herald full time and currently work there.
What I write about
My passion is covering the difficult stories; the ones that spark discussion and bring about change. While working for the Ke Alaka'i I have written two of these articles: an article about the Merit Scholarship that the University discontinued, and the University's lack of mental health counselors creating a dangerously long wait time for the students to receive mental health services. I addressed the issue of workplace gender discrimination in my article about women in real estate printed in the October 2022 issue of Hawaii Business Magazine.

Although I most enjoy writing public service stories, I am skilled at many different styles of writing. At the Ke Alaka'i I have written student and professor features and covered business startups, speeches and campus and community events. For Hawaii Business Magazine I covered regular sections in each magazine such as mentorship, careers and community and economy. I enjoy writing anything assigned to me, but I am also a curious writer who takes initiative to find stories everywhere I go.
